A Conversation With A "Loser"

How you can but they can't "lose" salvation.

Every once in a while I get a "loser" to talk to me. He is so sure that we can lose so great a salvation that he really paints himself into a corner.

I re-post this as an example of how to lead a "loser" to damnation:

Once saved - always saved?

Does it really depend on which Bible you use?

Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; ...See More

  • Fred B. Banner Jr How many times must Christ be crucified? How many times must ye be born again? When Jesus saved me it was for all eternity. It is finished.
  • Joe Nie What else would "saved" mean?
  • Fred B. Banner Jr Saved means saved just like grace means grace, gift means gift, eternal means eternal, it is finished means it is finished.

  • Dave Person No,it is not once saved always saved! You can accept Jesus Christ and then turn away and fall back into sin....

  • Dave Person Grace means favor! Jesus died once and for all sin, this means it is finished! Some would have you believe that once you get saved, you can live however you want,this is untrue. ...

  • Joe Nie Grace, defined by Paul, who was given the revelation of the Dispensation of Grace, is defined in Ro 11:6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.

  • Fred B. Banner Jr Dave. A person who is born again can fall back in sin, but can't stay there. Eternal security is not a license to sin. That would be a profession of faith. The Bible says "ye must be born again", not utter a profession of faith. Someone who is born again and washed in the blood is secure football eternity

  • Joe Nie Well, what about the sin of false witness? Didn't you just tell me that "that day" was today?!! I don't see Jesus casting people into hell today. Did you just lose it?

  • Joe Nie No, you didn't say that. We have what you said. Its on record! Turn to Jesus for what? If you can lose it what is the point? Is that the Good News of Losing your salvation?

  • Dave Person To tell people once saved always saved is telling people that if u get saved u can live however you want! That is a lie!

  • Joe Nie No, I don't preach the Good News of Losing your Salvation. You do. Don't you realize there are those who do not get saved and accept Jesus' blood shed on the cross of Calvary as full payment for their sins because there are fools out there demanding that they live their life completely sinless after that or else they'll lose it?

  • Joe Nie If you believe that you can lose it - certainly you just sinned by bearing false witness - and yet you didn't. In a real life test you don't believe what you preach.

  • Dave Person I repent daily, of course you sin, we do things we dnt wanna do without intent! But you cannot live continuesly in sin as a lifestyle without repentance! We are to imitate Christ, live holy, and in love! But,without a PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP with Jesus Christ, you will not enter heaven!

  • Fred B. Banner Jr But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. (John 10:26-29 KJV)

  • Fred B. Banner Jr Dave. You posted "I repent daily, of course you sin, we do things we dnt wanna do without intent! But you cannot live continuesly in sin as a lifestyle without repentance! We are to imitate Christ, live holy, and in love! But,without a PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP with Jesus Christ, you will not enter heaven!" A person who lives continually in sin without repentance is not really saved. They are merely religious. Moreover the Word of God teaches eternal security. The teaching that a born again person can loose what God freely gave them, something they didn't deserve to begin with is heretical

  • Joe Nie Well, I know people that are just as saved by grace as I am and they lead sinful lives. What do I think of that? They're fools for giving up the inheritance that they hold jointly with Christ. When they get in front of the Judgment Seat of Christ they will have lost all that Christ wanted to give them. Its like the Prodigal Son who spent all his inheritance on riotous living. He was never not a son but he did waste his inheritance which is a perfect picture of what we are in Jesus Christ - a son of God.

  • Joe Nie And 2) Believe it or not, I admire their faith in the word of God that they will not lose their salvation. Maybe one day they'll straighten out but think of all the years they have lost, the family that they could have had, the respect of those who have called them brethren. What about all that? Isn't that enough loss?

  • Joe Nie And dare I go on and ask what of those that are "living right" for the sake of "keeping it"? Won't they suffer loss also because of their lack of faith in the shed blood of Jesus Christ? If all of what they've done is to "keep it" what of their rewards? Will they lose all of that because they've done everything for the wrong reason?

  • Sandy Johnson Anyone who believes that God is not powerful enough to "KEEP" us "saved" after HE did it....doesn't have I very high opinion of Gods sovereignty.

  • Joe Nie I guess they don't understand the baptism of the Holy Ghost in Col 2. Col 2:9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
    Col 2:10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
    Col 2:11 In whom also ye
     are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
    Col 2:12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
    Col 2:13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
    Col 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

  • Joe Nie I could become nasty and say that since they're working for something that they can't work for they were probably never saved to begin with but I also know people that are just as saved by grace as I am that believe that you (not them) can lose it. It doesn't mean that they were never saved, it just means that they're deceived, that's all.

  • Alma Alsip Before I got saved I had been taught you could lose your salvation, so I didn't ask for it, because I knew I could not live without sin and I would lose, so why bother. But our merciful God brought me to a place where I surrendered and vowed to do the best I could to keep it. He led me to Mt. Hope Baptist Church where I heard you could not lose it, I thought Uh OH. But through the preaching, prayer and reading my Bible I knew I was eternally secure, and very thankful. I pray daily to die to self and not to grieve the Holy Spirit of God, or shame my Saviour. I want to please Him as do most Christians I know, sin makes me cringe and I shun it. The Holy Spirit convicts me if I do sin, and the Lord forgives me as soon as I repent. He knows my heart, and that's what He wants.
  • Joe Nie Yeah Alma, I wouldn't ask for it if I thought I'd just lose it again. And so many go to their deathbeds, if they get to, and either get saved then or ... not. But what a wasted life because of bad doctrine.
